Mike Taetzsch, founder of Trailhead Consulting, has over 30 years of experience across finance and operations that he brings to his client engagements. From the start, he has had a passion for the core product commercialization, manufacturing, and delivery processes necessary in driving profitable growth. His early career with Eastman Kodak began in manufacturing and new program financial leadership roles, providing financial support to several of the company’s major new product initiatives. On return from an assignment in the consumer group’s Latin American region, Mike led the transition team for the carveout of the Kodak Graphics business into a joint venture and the subsequent management of the Kodak manufacturing business that continued to serve the joint venture.
After leading the successful integration of Kodak’s acquisition, Encad, in San Diego, CA, Mike took a role in their operations management and was responsible for instituting an S&OP process, Kaizen for inventory reduction and commercialization of several new inkjet medias sourced from Asian manufacturers. Following a subsequent role as Finance Director for Kodak’s Inkjet Systems Division, Mike left to become Vice President of Operations at Memjet, an angel funded startup.
Within Memjet, Mike built up an operations and supply chain function and transitioned several new products from development to manufacturing. Through Mike’s leadership, strong, constructive, relationships were established and maintained with OEM customers and Asian contract manufacturers. Mike’s sound, well analyzed, business judgement and his servant leadership approach allow him to work effectively with all levels of internal external organizations.
Mike recently relocated from San Diego, CA to Saratoga Springs, NY to be near family and the Adirondack Mountains. He is a regular fitness swimmer and hiker.
